Congressman resigns after bribery plea

(CNN) — Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham said Monday he is resigning from Congress after pleading guilty to taking more than $2 million in bribes in a criminal conspiracy involving at least three defense contractors.

After entering his plea in San Diego, California, the eight-term California Republican said he was “deeply sorry.”

“The truth is I broke the law, concealed my conduct and disgraced my office,” he told reporters, his voice strained with emotion. “I know I will forfeit my reputation, my worldly possessions — most importantly the trust of my friends and family.” (Watch: ‘Now I know great shame’ — 2:16)

Asked by U.S. District Judge Larry Burns if he had accepted cash and gifts and then tried to influence the Defense Department on behalf of the donors, Cunningham said, “Yes, your honor.”

The Vik’s just get better..off the field

Follow up on the Vikings story… Since there’s nothing about them to talk about on the field:

One week after several Vikings players held a lewd party on a Lake Minnetonka boat, two players were seen throwing trash in a dumpster at a construction site in Eden Prairie. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS obtained exclusive access to the trash – and the information it revealed….

The list was titled “Incoming Flights (pickups)” and was written on a piece of Minnesota Vikings paper. It contained women’s names, airlines and flight times. The names ‘Iris and Liris’ are at the top, followed by ‘Nivie + 5’, ‘Ayana and Dionne and Aisha’, ‘Sandra’ and ‘Tanika plus 3’. The total is 16….

….Ayana Angel is well known for operating all over the U.S. On her Web site she describes herself as a courtesan, which the dictionary defines as a prostitute with upper class clientele. The site also directs visitors to her starring roles in several triple x-rated movies….

“I really was legitimately going to go,” Angel says. “Actually, I didn’t go because they had a similar situation here with some other football players. But it’s something they do every year.”

Angel says every year Vikings players bring in girls from Atlanta for a rookie party. “They’re mostly strippers that they fly up and – given the situation – if you pay them, they’ll do extracurricular activities,” Angel says.

According to Angel, the price is roughly $1,500…

Are you Shocked?… You didn’t get a ride on the Love Boat?

Yet another story to hit the air waves that has apparently shocked middle America, but really? Is the Viking Boat Party really that surprising? The majority of the people that would read this post are probably men and asking you, given the opportunity…. Having millions of Benjamins around, single (or not), have a world renowned-super star job and ladies throwing themselves at your locker number, you probably wouldn’t want to charter a couple yachts, flow some Crystal, buds, whores, tunes and go full board at the lake like it was Havasu on spring break.

I’m sure there’s some disappointment from the fans, owners and even other team members (that they don’t get an opportunity to partake) but next week, people will still tune into the game and the show will go on…. unless there’s constant updates, we’ll forget about it like the T.O. opening with Desperate Housewives last year…

So who wants to know if there was a video camera on board? If there was, you all will be downloading the vids when they surface in a few months and file em next to the Pam A. boat trip, or the One Night in Paris excursion…

One thing you can say about the Vikings is they certainly know how to party even if they are one of the worst teams in the league.
