Knicks vs Bucks at the Garden

Tonight had the second opportunity to sit on the floor of the Garden and watch a Knicks game. My girl and I had seats about 4 rows from the Knicks bench, where we could see all the injured Knicks (Marbury) and minus a coach today – Larry Brown left the game yesterday premature with a stomach ailment in Cleveland.

The Knicks have one of the worst records in basketball and tonight they showed why – they just couldn’t keep up the energy and the Bucks took them down with a final score of 97 to 80.

We did a pretty good job in the first half,” Williams said. “But then in the third quarter we came out and had no energy. We didn’t move the ball and we turned it over too much. We fell back into what we were doing before.”

Ford had 14 points and 10 assists for the Bucks, who are tied with Indiana and Washington for fifth place in the East. Bobby Simmons had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Milwaukee led by 33 points in the fourth quarter and snapped a six-game road losing streak. Joe Smith scored 11 points and Andrew Bogut contributed 10.

“It would have been nice to get this win for both him and for Herb,” Knicks center Eddy Curry said. “But for whatever reason we just didn’t have it tonight – like a lot of other nights.”
This probably says it all for the knicks:

Back in the B.A.Y.

This weekend headed to Cali again, early to see friends and family and for a week in San Diego to start training for a new position based in NYC. This weekend I filled up on mom’s cooking, toured the bay to see all my friends that won’t commit to come to NYC for a visit, hit up a few SF hot spots for birthday celebrations and catch up with all the gossip and local word on the streets from friends and family (Hi Grandma!).

Thursday I left on the old blue faithful – JetBlue, of which I’ve become a devote customer and look to the big JB first for all my flights: DirectTV, drinks, snacks and hot young nurses… what more do you want in an airline. Taking the camera out this last weekend didn’t happen so deal with a few club shots from both Wish and Ruby – I couldn’t tell you who was spinning (well I heard Bad Boy Bill was at Ruby but it didn’t sound like the Bill I had heard in the past).

Mike G had his fill of action at Wish and boned out early, Morg and Gabby were sippin cocktails all night when I arrived tardy from taking the tour through Mountain View and a stop by TM’s condo. Stella was klankin but the night was called and I played lost tourist for Gab before heading 45 mins back to my side of the bay.

Friday morning, pops and I hit the links in Sunol. I remember a time when I could play this course for a dollar after school and if it weren’t for the nearly free time I wouldn’t be coming out to the greens as much. Shot a few pics of the live turkeys and the course, before heading out to the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship at Wente vinyards tournament. Rain killed the fun but not before Jeff Quinney jumped to an early lead. Unfortunately he couldn’t hold on to it and Tripp Isenhour took away his fair share of the $600,000 purse.

Back to Saturday, which was a great afternoon and then off to SF again for Darin and Morgs celebration. Nothing was planned, major. Good to catch back up with Mike gggggg for a few and tip back beers before heading out NY style at 12 for the club. We jumped in but I found myself chatting up friends upstairs most of the night. I make the unfortunately mistake of walking back to Mike’s through the Tenderloin but good thing, all the crackheads thought I was some crazy cracka too (I wish I could have documented that stroll).

April 1st season opens

Tennis Anyone?April 1st the courts open up and its time for a little tennis. This year I’m incented more to work out and get active … especially since I got those cholesterol results last Nov. Well I have a few friends around the city that play but they have yet to set anything up for me… maybe its the prospects of playing with a former HS star. That’s right, ala Al Bundy, I go around spitting my stories of the high school glory days…

On the subject of tennis, a few friends and I got together in the afternoon last weekend and found a great spot for indoor gaming with drinks! The Fat Cat in the West Village, is an underground mecca for billiards, table tennis, foose ball, and a plethora of board games… Supply the patrons with beer and 5$ an hour gaming (or some 4$ an hour internet access) and you have the 30-somethings geek heaven… I’ll still be there for some games to start off a day but if you want a match up of Beirut you’re best off going to Off the Wagon or Jake’s Dilemma.
