Murray Hill, the over privileged son of the Upper East Side, is the neighborhood just south of Mid-town East and north of Gramercy. It’s stereotypical hood for the investment banker, ivy league and husband chaser crowd and one of three neighborhoods I explicitly try to avoid on weekend evenings if at all possible. Check this satirical take for one local, about his hood:

AV,
I completely, totally, 100% reject your neighborhood snobbery. I stay away from Soho like the plague on the weekends because it reminds me of Disney World: rich European douche-bags swarming around the place like an ant hill on crack. My point is, living in NYC is a tremendous experience/achievement no matter what neighborhood you’re in. It’s childish an indeed ‘un-New York’ to play “Gee, My Neighborhood is Cooler Than Yours!!” I used to feel like that, about 10 years ago…
It’s a fact that the Hill lacks any sentiments of heart, soul and pride not to mention art, music or culture to offer the city of New York.
