April 1st the courts open up and its time for a little tennis. This year I’m incented more to work out and get active … especially since I got those cholesterol results last Nov. Well I have a few friends around the city that play but they have yet to set anything up for me… maybe its the prospects of playing with a former HS star. That’s right, ala Al Bundy, I go around spitting my stories of the high school glory days…
On the subject of tennis, a few friends and I got together in the afternoon last weekend and found a great spot for indoor gaming with drinks! The Fat Cat in the West Village, is an underground mecca for billiards, table tennis, foose ball, and a plethora of board games… Supply the patrons with beer and 5$ an hour gaming (or some 4$ an hour internet access) and you have the 30-somethings geek heaven… I’ll still be there for some games to start off a day but if you want a match up of Beirut you’re best off going to Off the Wagon or Jake’s Dilemma.
