2nd Sundays

It’s June 9th and the start of the summer is here. Not signified by the change in heat nor the light in the day. But in the San Francisco Dance club scene, the start is when 2nd Sundays Productions kicks off with their summer party. Absolutly wicked. I haven’t seen so many people at Mission rock since last years 2nd Sunday end of the summer party. What can you say but the party rocked, you should have been there and I’ll be back next month. The only sour point was the unskillful set of Shannon Lolongo (more widely known as DJ Dayhota). I know the girl must have skills some where as she’s plastered up as this new up and coming suppa star female dj but shit this girl trainwrecked harder than any Amtrak wreck I’ve seen…must have been on something which even still is not very professional and I would not recommend seeing her again…just hype.

Some pics here of the party but there is no comparison to being there, living it, feeling it and having that memory.

The Last Sundays

Lovin’ it today. By far the warmest October weekend I’ve had in the bay in some time. Can’t complain about a thing either. And why should anyone especially if you went out to the final 2nd Sundays gig this year. I’ve been going the last 4 months, growing out my circle of friends, dancin my ass off to some great house on the bay and tonight – kickin the winter off with a fireworks show. I truly appreciate the promoters that remember who they are catering to and try to give back as much as the receive $$… Yet again I have to say the Norman killed me on the floor. This boy rocks the house every time. Big up to all my boys – and girls – that came out today. Those that I met, I do wish I hooked up the contact but if you are here, drop me a mail. This winter should be fun as hell, if I’m ever around. Big plans for A-ber to get out of town and check out how the otha side lives. Hopefully as fabulous as I am.

Recap of the rest of the weekend. Good show out at ICE last Saturday. Too bad I couldn’t kick it longer – congrats to CH – many happy wishes for your marriage, and for coming out to the BFlip, you girls surprised me on showing up. I didn’t know you like to get down! – I know you guys are gonna keep it rolling through the cold season. Though I didn’t really want to bring it up, I did witness the A’s go down to the Yanks that Sat afternoon. I also noticed they were making people break their brooms brought to signify the sweep. I was told this was because a long broom stick can make for a great weapon. But I guess a short, shard pointy half of one can’t hurt anyone. Go figure? The thinking here is ridiculous but it turned out to be their jinx and the A’s couldn’t pull it through. And not again today so it’s back to NYC. :( All I have to say is, my team, the RAIDERS won today. Hell Yeah! Going up against NY too, next week. Good Luck boys…

Friday was nothin but good food, good friends and a funny ass movie: Bandits. P.F. Changs IS over rated for Chinese food but it’s still some grub when you need some greasy chinese. Just don’t go because of the “atmosphere”, unless you like grumpy yuppies, sapin on martinis and complaining about waiting. Next time we do the lame lunch at a Cheesecake Factory.

The night didn’t end without some drama; so I get to hear more crap about friends going behind other friends for their own means. I never would have known RM to back stab but that’s all f*cked up man. Get your own girlfriend bro. Not only that, get honest with yourself.

And now for me it’s on to a little work on the site, a little work on the job, and some work on the music. More to definitely come and I know you can’t wait. Impatient huh…damn.

“Woe to the man whose heart has not learned while young to hope, to love – and to put its trust in life.”
Joseph Conrad

“Relationships–of all kinds–are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.”

I go off the net and the American saftey bubble pops!

This seems like the most inopportune time to update this page on mundane details of my life and what I’ve been doing the last week but I already had this post written before the events of yesterday occured.

My thoughts and well wishes go out to everyone in New York City and the rest of America. What a horrible event and I’m sure it will change the lives of every American. I was up early yesterday getting ready for work with my 6:30 am call, when my phone rang from Tracy. I never hear personal phone calls this early but the frantic voice on the other end stumbled over her words asking if I had the TV on. “No and why do you care?” I asked surprised.

“Turn it on now!”

I did, and it didn’t matter what channel as each had a different picture of the same event. One tower of the World Trade Center was smoking. “Fuck!” I said involuntarily.

I work with New Yorkers on a daily basis and all I could think about were all my friends and co-workers in the city. What were they doing now? what happened? How? Who? Is everyone alright?

My collared shirt was half on and I was brushing my teeth when the second plane hit the towers on live TV. “Fuck!” or something to that effect I said again…and all I though was we were under attack.

I rinsed, tucked in my shirt and jumped in my car, headed to work to start calling my friends in NY… Nothing has been the same since then…

EDIT – the rest of this doesn’t make sense to post but it’s here…. feel free to skip as it was supposed to be posted last week.

(cont.) …Original 960 Roommate #1 Morgan moved to the city, taking DSL with him so I haven’t had an opportunity to comment. Main reason I didn’t update and because I hardly have a moment to do anything personally constructive at work (which I guess is ideal for the employer) I didn’t give the low down about the previous week. Original 960 Roommate #2 will be moving back for a few months and we look for a new pad *something with out fleas, ants, and the occasional morning spider bite – spa and a sterile house a plus!*. I had a great time and thank you all for coming out to Mosaic. Excellent party guys!

Sunday though was the hit for the weekend for me. Yet another 2nd Sundays and without fail… another fine day. Great music especially by the man named Norman Stradley. He never fails to get the crowd of their ass rocking none other than the breakbeat and jerkin’ house music. Ellen F. rocked on the pier as well, or I should say as usual. Mass friends in a attendance and another great day on the bay… makes this my favorite party of the summer. One left so you have to check this one out of wait 7 months : 2nd Sundays.

Then to the final news for this fine Tuesday…I got Cable installed!!! Yeah @home will probably go out of business by the end of the year, which means I hope to keep the router they “lend” you and I will only hopefully pay about 1 month of service by then…you never know though. AOHELL could buy them out…. Oh wait did someone hear about some planes crashing or something….This is a whole ‘nother post so wait till tomorrow for my 2 cents…

Well, don’t worry about it’. It’s nothing.
