I stay away from Soho like the plague on the weekends because it reminds me of Disney World: rich European douche-bags swarming around the place like an ant hill on crack. My point is, living in NYC is a tremendous experience/achievement no matter what neighborhood you're in. It's childish an indeed 'un-New York' to play "Gee, My Neighborhood is Cooler Than Yours!!"
