I listen to (Last.fm)

There’s never enough time to play?

What a weekend. Monday is almost over and I still haven’t recovered. My boys came into town and we went out on it… First up was a pointless trip down town PA on Friday. Nothin but gossip, no music and lame people. I’ll have to say though that Blue Chalk can pour stiffies. We ended up at Honey in Oakland, where we had to actually get approval from drag bitch to enter the club. No one else was in line mind you at 1 AM, which usually sends out the first clue on the evening. 30 duckets entrance and we were in listening to breakbeat mixes of popular trance tracks and sippin 8 dollar top shelf vodka. I met some kool people but I liked it better when it was free (like the last few times I’ve been) or a different promoter. I guess only Organic and Eclipse can come close enough to live up to the IBIZA name here.

Saturday I finally had an out on the SFC. Just hitting the popular spots of Haight ~ some rekkid shopping at Spundae’s, burritos at Sweat Heat and a few Coronas later we’re off to Manhattan Lounge ~ Decibel. The first time I was here I walked in like I owned the place. Not because I had the attitude but a full day drinking vino at a Greek festival sauced me to such a point that I thought we had arrived at our destination when we stopped at the Bay Bridge for toll. db is a great spot but way too hot. Richie Hawtin was the headliner and a definite crowd pleaser hence the temperature problem. Sick relentless techno, excellent programming and despite a few blown speakers, the master, with square glasses, a confident calmness, and a analytical line on tune~rocked the house till the rising sun.

I started work on a new CD and then went out to the east bay for the rest of the day to run errands with my visitors. With so much parting going on I barely had time to work on personal projects. I’m constantly trying to build tools but with this societal dedication to work, I don’t know how anyone can find the time to be creative. I will post this in my links area but since this pertains to my thought, anyone that reads this should check out The Play Ethic. This is just the beginning of this web experiment and I hope it turns into a positive outlet. I shall see, since I think I’m the only one that will be reading this for a while. I leave you with this great pick of our media shamed ex-pres:
